 One of the best-known Catholic charities, the Society uses monthly collections from all churches to provide direct help to the poor and under-privileged of all religions for the past 60 years. It provides monetary assistance and food rations to those in need and also befriending services. 

•  Serving the poor and destitute in Singapore by giving cash grants, food rations, education and aiding with medical bills
• Transporting the sick to seek medical treatments, organising family outings and excursions during school holidays and bringing festive cheers during special occasions for the poor
• Supporting children from poor families. SSVP helps meet educational expenses up to tertiary level
• Securing employment from other welfare agencies for the unemployed
